James McAvoy & Mackenzie Davis in ‘Speak No Evil’ Remake Trailer

"What is wrong with you?!" Universal Pictures and Blumhouse have revealed the first official trailer the unsettling horror remake Speak No Evil, a Hollywood take on the Danish horror film Speak No Evil from 2022. This takes the same disturbing plot and spins in a bit, though it does stick fairly closely to the other film. Two families meet while on holiday, and one invites the other to their country estate. After they arrive at an idyllic English country house, it morphs from a dream vacation into a psychological nightmare when Paddy takes over. This new Speak No Evil movie stars Mackenzie Davis & Scoot McNairy as American couple Louise & Ben Dalton, who, along with their 11-year-old daughter Agnes (Alix West Lefler), accept a weekend holiday invitation of Paddy (James McAvoy), and his wife Ciara (Aisling Franciosi), and their furtive, mute son Ant (newcomer Dan Hough). Damn this looks crazy intense and terrifying! What is going on with McAvoy?! If you haven't seen the other one already, it might be better to wait & watch this film first. Here's the ...

Kick Ass Trailer for Assassin Action Film ‘Kitty The Killer’ from Thailand

"We are nothing if we don't obey the Agency." Epic Pictures Group has revealed a new official US trailer for a kick ass Thai film called Kitty The Killer, about a female assassin. Don't confuse that title with her being a kitty killer, or a killer with a kitty - not the same. A highly trained teenage assassin, Dina, and her mentor, Charlie, form an unlikely duo as they unexpectedly join forces to fight back and stop a sinister plot and save millions. When Dina is betrayed by Keng's organization, she unites with Charlie for vengeance. Featuring brutal animated sequences blended with live action. "The cast and crew worked tirelessly to bring Kitty the Killer to life, creating jaw-dropping action sequences." Starring Ploypailin Thangprapaporn as Dina, with Denkhun Ngamnet as Charlie, Nara Aniwat, Vithaya Pansringarm, and Somchai Kemglad as Keng. Of course this reminds me of Kill Bill Vol. 1, especially the animation, but it still looks good. The final montage of action seems legit. After playing at festivals all over the world, it's releasing in the US this May. Here's ...

Official US Trailer for ‘The Roundup: Punishment’ Korean Action Film

"I promise I'll catch them all." Blue Fox Ent. & Capelight Pictures have revealed the official US trailer for an action movie from Korea titled The Roundup: Punishment, which is the fourth movie in The Roundup series. It first launched with The Outlaws in 2017, continuing with The Roundup (2022) and The Roundup: No Way Out (2023) and now this one is ready to rock. As Detective Ma Seok-do pursues a drug trafficking app's elusive developer, he uncovers a deadly link to a vast online gambling syndicate (in the world of cyber crime), triggering an unprecedented alliance to take down the masterminds. The Roundup: Punishment was directed by Heo Myeong-haeng, a stunt choreographer who also worked on Don Lee's breakout hit Train to Busan. The Roundup 4 stars Korea's favorite Don Lee returning as Ma Seok-do, plus Kim Moo-yul, Park Ji-hwan, and Lee Dong-hwi. This has also received some positive reviews like the other three, with critics saying it "delivers all the open-hand slaps, booming punches, and flying knees to the head you want." "In the vastness of space and time, many tales weave into one, under the light of a thousand suns." There's an exciting original sci-fi series about to launch next week. A Thousand Suns is the latest creation from a filmmaker known as "Macgregor", produced by a company called Blackmilk Studio. There's not much out yet about the plot or the different stories. There will be a total of six anthology episodes to watch: Episode 1 - Ice; Episode 2 - Red; Episode 3 - Exodus; Episode 4 - Deal; Episode 5 - Bug; & Episode 6 - Tomorrow Land. Macgregor says his team of filmmakers, including Ruairi Robinson & Tyson Wade Johnston, worked to craft "films that serve as a gateway to our hopes, dreams... and nightmares." Watch: ‘Alberto and The Beast’ – An Engrossing Sasquatch Short Film

The story of a man and a beast. This entrancing short film is titled Alberto and The Beast and it played at last year's Toronto Film Festival. After screening at festivals it's now online to enjoy - all 17 minutes of it. While working for a children's show, a wildlife researcher encounters Bigfoot in the woods. Alberto and The Beast is written and directed by John Paul Lopez-Ali, starring Bruno Kanter as Alberto. (He looks a lot like Burn Gorman.) This is also the perfect companion piece to the other Bigfoot movie arriving in theaters later this month - Sasquatch Sunset from the Zellner Brothers (big fan of this film, highly recommend it). Both Sunset and Alberto approach sasquatches with the same sensibilities - they're misunderstood creatures and humans shouldn't just see them as a rare phenomenon to capture on camera. I do wish there was a bit more going on with Alberto and his new friend in this short, but it's a good one anyway. Click on play below. Thanks to Vimeo Staff Picks for the tip on this one. ...

Official Trailer for ‘The Contestant’ Doc About a Game Show in Japan

"For months, my life has just been a struggle between sanity and madness." Hulu has revealed an official trailer for a documentary film titled The Contestant, a fascinating, unbelievable true story about a game show contestant in Japan in the 1990s known as "Nasubi". It's a bizarre cross between The Truman Show and Oldboy (and predates both of these films), but it actually really happened. This true story of a Japanese reality TV star left naked in a room for more than a year, tasked with filling out magazine sweepstakes to earn food & clothing, prompts innumerable questions about our culture of oversharing. Before the reality TV craze, there was this ominous harbinger in Japan of what was to come in oversharing-obsessed culture. The Contestant traces the experience of aspiring comedian Tomoaki Hamatsu, nicknamed Nasubi, who unwittingly became an extreme case study. The doc film brings a revelatory depth of insight by interviewing Nasubi and others, exploring further twists in Nasubi's life after "Denpa Shonen" to deliver one of the most WTF stories of the year. Wow. A must watch. ...

Heavily impacted by his fellow veteran's suicides, George Eshleman, an Army Veteran, decides to raise awareness for military member suicides by hiking the entire nearly 2,200-mile Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia. On the trek, he carries 363 name tapes from the uniforms of military who committed suicide, given to him by their families. Along the way he is given the trail name of "The Keeper" (of the names) and finds support and comfort from fellow hikers, civilians, and military Veterans alike, in the "Hiker Universe." This adventurous subculture forms a network of hikers that revel in their common purpose and an unspoken meaning of life that drives them down the trail and over the next peak. Full Trailer for ‘Under Paris’ French Shark-in-the-Seine Netflix Movie

"It will be carnage." Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a horror thriller shark movie called Under Paris, about a shark literally chomping its way through the rivers and sewers of the French capital city. The French title is Sous la Seine, translating directly to Under the Seine. Sophia, a brilliant scientist comes to know that a large shark is swimming deep in the river Seine. In order to save Paris from an international bloodbath, a grieving scientist is forced to face her tragic past when a giant shark appears in the Seine and starts tormenting the city's inhabitants. Under Paris stars Bérénice Bejo, Nassim Lyes, Léa Léviant, and Iñaki Lartigue. This is such a hilariously cheesy plot with the triathlon swimmers all getting taken out and the Jaws-inspired mayor who refuses to do anything or stop anything. It's pretty much a B-movie with a Netflix budget. I have to admit, I'm kinda interested in watching just to see how much dumb fun it'll be. 🦈 Here's the main official trailer (+ poster) for Xavier Gens' Under Paris, direct from ...
