Rock Doc ‘Pearl Jam: Dark Matter’ Trailer Launching Their New Album
Experience the new Pearl Jam album in a unique cinematic way. The rock band has revealed a short promo trailer for Pearl Jam: Dark Matter, a one-night-only cinematic event this April. To celebrate the release of the new album, they're presenting an exclusive cinematic engagement: Pearl Jam – Dark Matter – Global Theatrical Experience – One Night Only. Viewers will be among the very first to hear the band's new record (called "Dark Matter") in cinemas around the world. This communal experience will play Dark Matter in its entirety twice: first in a dark cinema, then again with mesmerizing visuals. Artist Alexandr Gnezdilov created the cover of Dark Matter using a large self-made kaleidoscope with each letter visible on the cover individually captured, then handwritten midair with a specially designed flashlight to create the pearlescent effect. This is the same art seen in the visualization within this trailer. Produced by multi-Grammy award winning producer Andrew Watt, Dark Matter marks the band's first release since the acclaimed Gigaton (2020). In 2023, the members of Pearl Jam — Eddie Vedder, Jeff Ament, ...
Mubi Trailer for Quentin Dupieux’s ‘Yannick’ About an Interrupted Play
"What's my name again?" Mubi has unveiled an official trailer for an absurdity, meta French comedy called Yannick, the second film from 2023 by the wacky French filmmaker Quentin Dupieux. This premiered at the 2023 Locarno Film Festival last year and will be streaming on Mubi starting in April. Dupieux never stops working! Smoking Causes Coughing was released last year, and he also brought Daaaaaali! in Venice and this one in Locarno, plus he has another new film rumored for Cannes 2024. In this – on a rare night off, parking attendant Yannick goes to the theater to catch a production of the comedy The Cuckold (aka "Le Cocu"). Dissatisfied by the boring performance, Yannick hijacks the show: he takes the theater hostage and demands to become the playwright. This film stars Raphaël Quenard as Yannick, Pio Marmaï, Blanche Gardin and Sébastien Chassagne. Shot in secret in just 6 days, this award-winning comedy is ready to make you laugh your ass off. Looks kooky, a wickedly smart satire about why audiences can be real assholes.

Aspiring Rapper Sol Goes on a Texas Road Trip in ‘Lost Soulz’ Trailer
"Music's not worth dying for..." "Then what is?" Kino Lorber has debuted the official trailer for the indie music film titled Lost Soulz, opening in theaters this May to watch. It originally premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival last year, where it was second in line for Audience Award. It later went on to win AFI Grand Jury Prize and the SXSW Jury Award for Vision. Lost Soulz is the feature debut from award-winning filmmaker Katherine Propper. The film is a fictional feature (not a doc though it has that vibe) that follows aspiring rapper Sol as he joins a group of Gen-Z musicians on tour across the heart of Texas, embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime road trip. Set to a lo-fi, genre-bending hip-hop soundtrack, Propper's debut is suffused with a hazy & infectious energy and features virtuosic musical performances, from the tour van to the stage, that allow the ensemble's chemistry to shine. Sauve Sidle stars as Sol, joined by Micro TDH, Krystall Poppin, Siyanda "Yung Bambi" Stillwell, Malachi Mabson, Aaron "Seven" Melloul, Tauran "Big 40 Thrax" Ambroise, and ...

"Humans have always deceived us." GKids has finally revealed the full US trailer for the awesome animated sci-fi film Mars Express from France. It's now set to open in theaters this May - check your local listings. A must watch on the big screen! I've been raving about this film ever since its world premiere at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival last year - thrilling sci-fi that is kind of an update on Ghost in the Shell. In the future, private detective Aline Ruby and her android partner are hired by a wealthy businessman to track down a notorious hacker. On Mars, they descend deep into the underbelly of the planet's capital city where they uncover a much darker story of brain farms, corruption, and a missing girl who holds a secret about the robots that threaten to change the face of the universe. "Combining 2D & 3D animation, this stylish, smart, futuristic film noir is an adrenaline-fueled, cinematic adventure, packed with humor and exhilarating action sequences." With the voices of Léa Drucker, Mathieu Amalric, Daniel Njo Lobé, Marie Bouvet, ...
Rock History Doc ‘Catching Fire: The Story of Anita Pallenberg’ Trailer
"She demanded that people follow on her terms..." "We're talking about a 'one-off' here." Magnolia Pictures has revealed the full trailer for documentary film titled Catching Fire: The Story of Anita Pallenberg, not to be confused with 2013's The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. This intimate doc reveals the story of a fierce rock 'n' roller, actress, muse and mother who rose to prominence in the 60s & 70s. It first premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival and also played at the London Film Festival lat year. Catching Fire: The Story of Anita Pallenberg is a vital portrait of the charismatic and fierce rock n' roller, actress, muse, and mother who became famous after a chance encounter with the Rolling Stones. Full UK Trailer for Luna Carmoon’s Odd Psychological Thriller ‘Hoard’
"You're a funny little biscuit." Vertigo Releasing has debuted the full official UK trailer for Hoard, an indie film creation from newcomer writer / director Luna Carmoon, making her feature directorial debut. This premiered in the Critics Week sidebar at the 2023 Venice Film Festival last year, with stops at the Athens and London Film Festivals. Not to be confused with the 2018 horror movie The Hoard, or any other horror films. In a fearlessly strange and intense psychological drama a troubled teenager forms an obsessive bond with a mysterious young man at her foster home. Starring Saura Lightfoot Leon as Maria, with Hayley Squires, Joseph Quinn, Lily-Beau Leach, and Samantha Spiro. It's hard to describe this very strange film, which is exceptionally odd and icky at times. Most reviews at festivals last year were positive, saying: "this is unfiltered filmmaking that indulges every storytelling whim, however uncomfortable it might turn out to be." This trailer plays like it is a horror film, though it's a bit more sentimental and bizarre than that.

Chaos Theory follows Darius Bowman, a young paleontologist from the original series who discovers that live dinosaurs are roaming California's wilderness. Set six years after the events at Camp Cretaceous, members of "The Nublar Six" are struggling to find their footing off the islands, navigating a world now filled with dinosaurs and people who want to hurt them. Featuring the voices of Paul-Mikel Williams as Darius and Sean Giambrone as Ben. Animated by DreamWorks Animation for Amblin & Universal. While this series is still mainly meant for kids, it looks a bit darker and perhaps scarier than the Camp Cretaceous.
